I got this Official Postcrossing card from Hungary! Here we’re takin’ a look at Budapest, the capital of Hungary, located in the north-central part of the country. The landmark of this city that we’re gonna talk about today is the Great Market Hall, the largest and oldest indoor market of Budapest. With three floors of shopping heaven, this is the place to come to if you’re feeling – dare I say – hung(a)ry. On the top floor, you have things like handicrafts, tourist souvenirs, apparel, and Hungarian fast food joints, which serve things like goulash, a Hungarian soup. On the next floor down (which is the ground floor), you’re in food & drink city: wines, produce, meats (like salamis), pastries, candies, and one of the trademark staples of the country: paprika! Paprika is so abundant here that the postcard designers opted to line the bottom of this card with them! Apparently in 2015, I did a post about Hungarian paprika (https://www.facebook.com/apostcardforyou/photos/a.217135375146867/384207218439681), so feel free to check that out! Lastly, on the basement floor, you’ve got your strong-smelling goods: particularly, fish and pickles, and a few other butcher shops! I can imagine myself planning a full-blown itinerary for Budapest, only to find myself spending every day at this market. It is pure bliss for me XD BTW, if you’re curious about some other landmarks in Budapest, feel free to check out this mega-long post at

, or perhaps this much shorter post at https://www.facebook.com/apostcardforyou/photos/a.217135375146867/395862320607504. Thanks a lot for this wonderful postcard, Eszter!
