Take a look at this awesome postcard from the Philippines! This card endorses PHLPost’s 2nd National Letter Writing Day, which took place in October 2014. As you can see, there are plenty of smiling faces here, which is exactly the kind of expression to have when exchanging written stationery! Anyway, around 100,000 students from all over the country partook in this national writing day. The theme was “Pinasaya”, which I’m not sure there’s an exact translation of… but based on this theme, students were “to write happy thoughts to delight a family member, friend, teacher, or anyone special”. I quoted that from the press release on it since I wasn’t 100% sure what that entailed… I’m guessing it was just to write something positive and uplifting to a loved one? I mean, that in itself is enough to bring someone a pleasant surprise and some joy. And that’s why I love Postcrossing! I take for granted the magic of finding something in my mailbox most days of the week – this is a good reminder to appreciate it! Thank you so much for this superb postcard and for all your kindness, Monica!
